Mediterranean treasure
Lloret de Mar, a beautiful town on the Costa Brava in the Spanish region of Catalonia, is renowned for its Mediterranean climate and mild temperatures.
The city has its own little wonders to discover, such as the medieval castle of Sant Joan. Set atop a hill to the east of the town, it offers views over the region. There’s also the church of Sant Romà, in the centre, which combines Catalan Gothic style with Modernista architecture. Set on a cliff overlooking the sea, the gardens of Santa Clotilde were designed in the style of the Italian Renaissance.
Lloret de Mar is famous for its magnificent beaches. Endless, with white sand and warm water, the beaches of Lloret, Fenals, Santa Cristina and Canyelles are havens of peace. Lined with rocks and pine trees, they are a perfect illustration of the Spanish Costa Brava coastline, with a number of coastal paths offering splendid walks.
Lloret de Mar is also famous for its Mediterranean gastronomy, like its Gastronomic Days, which focus on fish and seafood. To be found in the city’s 25 restaurants
